Sullivan's music (with words by F.C. Burnand) is at its liveliest in the cheerfully silly farce Cox and Box. Landlord Bouncer rents the same room to two different men, and unwitting roommates Mr. Cox and Mr. Box encounter all sorts of unexpected complications building to a hilarious conclusion.
Then the ladies take over for an all-female revue highlighting some of the best of Gilbert & Sullivan. Three of the company's finest singers appear as some of Gilbert's funniest characters and offer favorites such as "Climbing Over Rocky Mountain," "When a Merry Maiden Marries" and "Three Little Maids From School."
