Lily Grehan


Lily Grehan (Chorus) Lily holds a B.M. degree with a major in Voice/Opera and a minor in Piano, and an M.M. degree in Opera Production and Direction. She is listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities having sung over 40 leading roles and touring the U.S. in nine opera and choral tours. She studied acting at H.B. Studios in NYC and worked with such directors as Boris Goldowsky and Richard Collins. As a member of the Southern Opera Theatre, she won the Beverly Sills Opera Award at Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., for having sung over 900 performances throughout the U.S., including the southern U.S. premiere of Argento's Postcard From Morocco.

Her favorite roles include Susanna, Despina, Nedda, Sophie, Micaela, Mimi, Nonna and Gilda. She has studied voice with Raymond Gibbs (Met Opera tenor), Eleanor Steber (Juilliard), Antonia Lavanne (Mannes) and worked in master classes with Elizabeth Schwartzkopf.

Presently, she is teaching voice and piano to her many beloved students in the Smithtown, L.I. area. She wishes to thank her wonderfully talented and supportive daughter Valerie for encouraging her to join the Company and she is delighted to be singing in her fourth season with GaSLOCoLI in H.M.S. Pinafore.
