Anthony Edelman (Boatswain) joined the Company in 1996, appearing as the Prince of Monte Carlo in The Grand Duke, and returned to play the Usher in Trial by Jury, Mr. Goldbury in Utopia, Limited, Pooh-Bah in The Mikado, Prince Arac in Princess Ida and Grand Duke Rudolph in the 50th anniversary production of Very Truly Yours, Gilbert & Sullivan. He also performed in the hit stage reading of Tennyson's "The Princess" in 2007. He has performed in the chorus with Opera Theatre of Rochester in Die Fledermaus, Lucia di Lammermoor and Tales of Hoffmann, as well as regional productions of Bye Bye Birdie, Hello Dolly (Rudolf), Kiss Me Kate (Gremio), Little Mary Sunshine (Uncle Oscar), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey II), Mame (Beau), The Mikado (Mikado), Emperor’s New Clothes (Emperor), The Music Man (Marcellus), Oliver! (Sykes & Mr. Bumble), On the Town, 110 in the Shade (HC), The Sound of Music and Wonderful Town (Wreck). In addition, he has sung in numerous revues, rendered the National Anthem for all three Philadelphia professional sports teams, and performed and authored murder mysteries, as well as serving as a cantor every weekend at Our Lady of Mercy in Plainview. Sound Engineer for the Rockville Center Guild for the Art’s productions of Cabaret, The King & I, and Bye Bye Birdie. Anthony, who works for Bethpage Federal Credit Union, and is a Trustee for the Hicksville Board of Education, owes his inspiration to his wife, Theresa, and their daughter, Margaret. |
