Margaret S. Derasmo


Margaret S. Derasmo (Chorus) Margaret Suzanne Derasmo holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from The Purchase Conservatory of Music and a Master of Arts in Music History and Literature with a concentration in Opera Performance and Opera History from Long Island University. She has played the roles of Frasquita in Carmen, Madame Lidoine in Les Dialogues des Carmelites (English and French), Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, the Countess and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro (English and Italian), Dorabella and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte (English and Italian), and The Ghost of Christmas Present in GaSLOCoLI's A Gilbert & Sullivan Christmas Carol.

She has appeared with various Companies in the chorus of Hänsel und Gretel, The Mikado, The Merry Widow (Grisette- Dodo), Amahl and the Night Visitors and Madame Butterfly. Margaret has also performed as the soprano soloist in Handel's Messiah and is a regular cantor at St. Anthony RC Church in Oceanside, New York. She has been seen throughout the Tri-State area in solo concerts of arias and songs.

Margaret recently appeared as a soloist in GaSLOCoLI's Wine and Cheese event and A Grand and Glorious Feeling. Margaret is happy to act as the Chorus Manager for H.M.S. Pinafore.
