Christine Beers

Christine Beers (Little Buttercup/Chorus) Returning to GaSLOCoLI after a few years off raising her twins, Christine has the privilege of playing Little Buttercup for the second time in 12 years. In 1996, she was cast in the role when H.M.S. Pinafore was last performed during the Savoy Project.

In between her two turns as the "plump and pleasing" Buttercup, Christine has served the company in the roles of Lisa in The Grand Duke, Phoebe Meryll in The Yeomen of the Guard, Casilda in The Gondoliers, the Ghost of Christmas Present in A Gilbert & Sullivan Christmas Carol, and most recently in the two company fund raisers, Radio Nights and The Big Broadcast. In the latter, she performed the old chestnut "Take a Number from One to Ten"

If all of that wasn't enough, Christine has also served three terms on the GaSLOCoLI board, fully addressing her masochistic tendencies.

In addition to her GaSLOCoLI and parental roles, Christine's musical life extends to church and school performing. A long-time member of several choral groups at her church in Bethpage, she has been known to strap on a guitar and barge into one or another of her kids' classrooms to sing "Puff the Magic Dragon," "House at Pooh Corner," or, if the season is right, a Noel or two.

Christine's kids swear that she's great, and can't wait to see Mommy tread the boards this spring and summer.
